Hmmm…about me, Kamie. You could go to my website and learn all about me and my yoga background, but here you’ll get a little more of the juicy details. I’m Kamela Noelani…I stop there, with my first and middle name, only because I’ve had a few last names and the only names that have stayed generally consistent are the first and middle ones, and even then, I haven’t been Kamela since sixth grade. But I like Kamela, in sanskrit “Kamala” is lotus, “Kama” is wish, desire or love, which all sound good to me. In arabic ”Kamela” means perfection; I really like that one! “Noelani” is Hawaiian, and means “mist from heaven” or “heavenly mist.” Since yoga is all about “clearing the mist” – how apropos.
For those who have known me a long time, I’ve had a string of last names, and every five or six years or so, it’s important to check in with me to figure out “who I am now.” So, now, I’m Kamie Noelani or Kamela Noelani…no last name necessary.
